2020
A decree issued by the French Ministry of Health and Solidarity, published in the Official Journal on April 6, 2020, stated that certified departmental analysis laboratories were authorised to carry out RT-PCR tests for the SARS-CoV-2 genome. It was within this context that, on April 7, 2020, the Saône-et-Loire prefecture signed an order authorising the departmental laboratory, Agrivalys 71, to carry out COVID19 tests.
Fighting Covid19 in Saône-et-Loire
The Mâcon, Chalon, Montceau, Le Creusot, Louhans and Paray hospitals get their COVID tests analysed in the laboratory where 1,200 analyses can be carried out per day. Results are provided within 4-24 hours. Managing the emergency is the order of the day at the establishment since Agrivalys 71 is able to test a large quantity of samples with the appropriate, high-quality equipment. Anonymity and traceability are ensured by using barcodes matching the patient’s identity.
This involvement in the fight against COVID19 is in line with the values of Agrivalys 71 whose motto is to ensure its provides a real public service. This effort would not have been possible without the involvement of the staff who have gone that extra mile and are doing a remarkable job so far.
